Design
Human Engineering (DHE) developed
by Richard Bandler, the CO-developer of NLP, could be considered
the most innovative tool for personal achievement and enrichment
available today. As the name implies, it is about designing and
installing unconsciously controlled mental devices engineered
to accomplish specific outcomes.
If you look at DHE from the perspective
of engineering, it may be easier to understand more fully. If
I as an engineer wanted to improve a piece of machinery, I would
evaluate what the machine was accomplishing in its present state,
determine what I desired it to do, and engineer improvements that
would increase the machine's effectiveness and use. It is in this
frame of mind the concepts of DHE have been devloped. With DHE
we look for what a person has accomplished, determine what it
is they have yet to accomplish, and then engineer and install
the necessary structure within the mind that will achieve the
yet to be completed goal.
For example, if you wanted to make
great decisions all the time, it would be valuable to know how
you currently make decisions, and then design and install a mental
strategy or device that would automatically activate when decisions
needed to made. A mental decision making device that has an ability
to differentiate a great decision from the others.
DHE is at least partly based on a concept
that everything we are in contact with today was first a thought
in the mind of its creator. This means each product or device
existed in the mind before it existed in matter. If the mind can
conceive of it, it must already exist - as an ability of the mind.
DHE helps us to tap into and engineer the processes of the mind
- accessing these remarkable abilities for use in expanding human
potential.
