In the late 70's Richard Bandler and his collaborator John Grinder uniquely and intensely studied some of the most exceptional people in the fields of psychology, hypnosis and communications. Their findings and resulting original techniques revealed in their first two books entitled "The Structure of Magic I" and "The Structure of Magic II". Bandler and Grinder named their truly innovated field "Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP.
